  • Hayman Island Private Residences

It seems three’s the magic number, as we are heading back to Hayman Island to start work on our third project with Hutchinson Builders.  This time we are working on four residences that are sure to impress!

We will be installing our custom X1 Series frameless glass balustrade on the internal stairs, around the decking and the pool fences & will bring you progress shots along the way.  You will be able to check out the progress of the build and watch it all come together in what are guaranteed to be remarkable private residences.

If you look back through the news stories you will see the other completed projects we have done on Hayman Island & get an idea of how impressive these latest designs will be along with the quality involved showing why Thump, and our Custom X1 Series frameless glass balustrade, are the go to when Hutchinson Builders need balustrade for these specialty projects.

The X1 Series is a highly sophisticated product aimed at a designer market. The X1 balustrade system is 100% designed and manufactured in Australia, engineered and tested to meet Australian standards.  We ensure that we only use the highest quality Australian made components and safety glass, which has been vigorously tested to withstand even the harshest of marine environments.

We look forward to working with Hutchinson Builders again on this exciting project and also to bringing you photos when it is all done.

  • Update – Southpoint Office Tower: Flight Centre Global Headquarters

And just like that she’s all done, finished, finito, completo.

We were very proud to have been asked to install our custom X! Series frameless glass balustrade in this spectacular building & are even prouder with the outcome, bias aside we think it looks fantastic!  Thumps custom designed product looks right at home yet still stands out in a building that is truly one of a kind!

Each floor is themed around a different aspect of travel, providing inspiration for staff within the business. Meeting rooms and quiet rooms will be designed to replicate plane cockpits, London buses, cruise ships and more.  The primary circulation spaces include sculptural stairs and a slide connecting the floors to activate the core of the building.

While we didn’t get a chance to test out the indoor slides before finishing up we did get some photos of the finished product & would love to show you Thumps X1 Series custom designed frameless glass balustrade sitting proud ready for the Flight Centre crew to come aboard & settle in for the journey ahead in their new space.

  • The Highgate

    0_The-Highgate-4_-2B768 7_1_Highgate 7_3_Highgate

Thump was very happy to work with Cottee Parker Architects again on The Highgate; a stunning new exclusive residency in Highgate Hill.

Architect Sandra Browne was charged with the task of creating

an iconic award winning building, and given ample scope to realize that challenge, what Architect wouldn’t be energised and excited to be involved?

For Sandra, with 25 years experience in creating large residential projects, this brief is the kind of opportunity that makes all the hard work worthwhile. From this challenge has emerged a sleek glass shrouded structure that enhances its elevated location as if it was always just meant to be there. The Highgate is the pinnacle of that much-loved classic design ethic: less is more.

The entire front & back walls of the building are glass so they wanted a balustrade that would not hinder the open effect but would also stand as a statement piece on its own.  Enter the Thump X1 Series balustrade system.  The minimalistic look of our frameless glass and stainless steel balustrade compliments the building perfectly and yet still adds its own touch of understated class & beauty.

Whether looking from the outside in, or if you are one of the lucky people to take up residence in one of the 42 exquisite three bedrooms and Penthouse residences then looking out over the spectacular uninterrupted city and landscaped garden views is a treasure to cherish.

  • 1 Kent St, Sydney

Thump have recently installed the X1 series for Lend Lease in their 1 Kent St project.  This project involved the refurbishment of a 6 storey heritage office building in the Rocks precinct, designed by Jackson Teece Architects.

No 1 Kent St is a series of three interlocking heritage warehouse buildings located at the Northernmost end of Sydney’s CBD overlooking Walsh Bay & Sydney Harbor. Jackson Teece were commissioned by Kamirice & JCK Consulting to refurbish the building in order to create a modern commercial workplace and bought Thump onboard to add the finishing touches. The upgraded services, lifts, lighting, mechanical and entry lobbies, all combine to create a sleek internal environment within a distinct heritage shell.

Thanks to Jackson Teece for the project images.

Historic Building Society building – corner of Limestone and East Streets, Ipswich

Cottee Parker Architects –  Hutchinson Builders

A beautiful mix of old and new.

Thump was thrilled to be brought on board by Cottee Parker Architects to work with them, alongside Hutchinson Builders, on the internal strip and fit-out of the Historic 1888 Building Society Building.  We installed our X1 Series frameless glass balustrade to the internal staircases within the former bank which, upon completion early next year, will boast the best quality office and retail accommodation in the Ipswich CBD.

The internal strip-out has unveiled some intricate brickwork and archways that Cottee Parker plan to bring into the finishes so a mix of this and the addition of contemporary finishes including our X1 Series frameless glass balustrade will give the old girl a gentle nudge into this century, while keeping with the beauty of times gone by.

There is a lot of history in this Building and Thump is very proud our X1 Series will become a part of it.
